United States Citizens

All applicants must submit a complete application (resumes are additionally welcome) to Grand Portage Human Resources Department.


Some positions, including all Casino jobs and any job dealing with children, medical information and social work, may require that a background check be in progress before the application/resume can be processed by the hiring manager. The Human Resources Department will send you a Personal History Statement. Complete thoroughly and return. 


Once your application/resume is processed and submitted to the hiring and/or interview committees, a letter will be mailed to the address on your application/resume to acknowledge receipt. After reviewing your application/resume, you will be contacted as soon as some action is taking place.


Canadian Citizens

All applicants must submit a complete application or resume to Grand Portage Human Resources Department.

If the position requires a background check, you must also submit a copy of a recent Criminal Records Check. Your local police can run a check using your name and date of birth to confirm whether or not you have a criminal record. 


Grand Portage also requires verification that you are eligible for employment in Minnesota, United States. Please submit copies of documentation verifying one of the following:

  • US Citizenship
  • Citizenship
  • Dual Citizenship
  • Lawful Alien Status
  • Eligibility under the Jay Treaty (at least 50% Native)

 

All employees of Grand Portage must have an American Social Security Number. You must apply in person; the closest location is Duluth, Minnesota. Please request a receipt for proof of application. Your Social Security Number should be available within a day or so. We need either a copy of your card or the receipt.


Once the Human Resources Department receives all information and documentation, your application/resume will be processed and submitted to the hiring and/or interview committees. A letter will be mailed to the address on your application/resume to acknowledge receipt. After reviewing your application/resume, you will be contacted as soon as some action is taking place.
