Description: Responsible for maintaining and repairing Grand Portage RTC properties such as buildings, roadways, parking lots and maintaining of grounds. Directly supervises employees in the Reservation Maintenance Department. Ability to perform, maintain and assist in monthly stationary generator site checks and running the generator under required load and any other job related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).
Education:
 An advance degree of a high school diploma with post-secondary training in equipment maintenance, pneumatic and electrical systems; repair and make adjustment to HVAC equipment; and/or four or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, must have three years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications:
 Must have BIA or Minnesota Boiler License, or receive within the first year. Certified HVAC controls & Air Distribution training with in the first two years. Complete an OSHA Hazard Communication within first year. Must have and maintain a minimum valid Class B driver’s license, and to be insurable with RTC auto insurance. Required to have a good working knowledge of heating and air conditioning equipment repair; maintaining mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical system; plumbing, heating, electrical, and minor carpentry. Ability to work with power tools and other equipment. Must be able to lift and move up to 75 pounds. Ability to work on scaffolding, high ladders and roof tops, desired.

 
 Grand Portage requires a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for all positions. American Indian Preference will apply.
