Welcome to the Grand
Portage Indian Reservation snowmobile trail system that present
an opportunity to view scenic vistas, encounter wildlife and travel
through some of Minnesota’s most rugged terrain.
We ask that you respect
our land and others who may be using the trails as well. Use common
sense. Take only pictures; leave only tracks. Above all, have
fun and enjoy the trails.
TIPS FOR SAFE
RIDING
- Always be courteous
toward fellow snowmobilers and other outdoor winter activity
participants. . . we can all share the outdoors.
- Knowing the basic
laws for your safety can prevent mishaps
- Always have a lighted
headlight and taillight so others can see you.
- Highways or road
shoulders are illegal to ride on – stay in the ditch or
outside bank.
- Run in the right
side ditch after dark.
- Come to a complete
stop at all crossings.
- Cross roadways
at a 90 degree angle.
- Display license
number and decals as required.
- US Forest Service
roads are open for riding UNLESS they are plowed
(off-reservation).
- Snowmobiling is
not permitted on cross-country ski trails.
- Always carry your
registration and identification cards.
- DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL
& OPERATE A SNOWMOBILE.
