Motorcycle Poker Run 

Motorcyclists join us for this fun Summer event!

We are partnering with popular Gunflint Trail and Cook County motorcycle destinations.

Participants will draw a poker card at each checkpoint.
Top 3 poker hands will win a prize (details below)!

  • Start: Hungry Jack Lodge
    • Participants will receive their 1st Poker Card here, along with score card and route map
  • Stop 2: Trail Center Lodge
    • Participants will receive their 2nd Poker Card here
  • Stop 3: Skyport Lodge
    • Participants will receive their 3rd Poker Card here
  • Stop 4: Voyageur Brewing
    • Participants will receive their 4th Poker Card here
  • Finish: Grand Portage Lodge & Casino
    • Participants will receive their 5th Poker Card here
    • GPLC rep will sign score card and log the hand
    • Scorecard will be returned to Participant
    • Winners will be announced/awarded at 8pm on Saturday, July 3, 2021 in Antlers Lounge
    • We will sponsor a Karaoke Event in Antlers Lounge from 8pm -11pm
      • Raffle prizes will be drawn throughout the Karaoke (1 raffle ticket for each drink purchased during Karaoke)

Each checkpoint will offer food & drink specials (will vary by checkpoint partner).

Grand Portage Lodge & Casino will award prizes for the top 3 poker hands:

  • 1st Prize will receive:
    • Two-night stay in a Lakeside Room
    • Dinner for 2 (up to $50)
    • Breakfast for 2 (up to $25)
  • 2nd Prize will receive:
    • One-night stay in a Lakeside Room
    • Breakfast for 2 (up to $25)
  • 3rd Prize will receive:
    • Lunch for 2 (up to $35)

Register in Advance:

  • Participants can register in advance by providing their name, email and phone # to: 218-475-2933 or tford@grandportage.com.
    • OR: Hungry Jack Lodge will have a sign-up sheet for same-day registrants.

Additional Motorcycle Poker Run Event Details:

  • Motorcycle Poker Run is FREE to participate in. Must be 21 years of age or older to participate.
  • Promo flyers and route maps will be available at each checkpoint partner location.
  • Hungry Jack Lodge (starting location) will distribute route maps and score cards to each registered participant.
  • Each partner location will assign a staff member to handle playing card selections and score cards.
  • Participants need to take their scorecard with them to each location.
  • Start time at Hungry Jack Lodge is 10am – 12pm on Saturday, July 3, 2021.
  • At each designated checkpoint, participants draw (and keep) a random card from a shuffled double deck.
  • The card drawn will be recorded on the participant’s Score Card (initialed by partner location rep).
  • First Place Winner of the event will be the participant with the best five-card poker hand at the end of the event.
  • Second and Third prize winners will have the second and third best five-card poker hands.
  • Winning hand will be determined by standard poker hand rankings (five card hand). No wild cards. No extra card “buy-ins”.
  • No duplicate cards: if player draws a card they already have, they must put the card back and re-draw another card.
  • It is the participant’s responsibility to confirm that the card they drew is correctly recorded on their scorecard before leaving the “checkpoint”.
  • In the event of a “tie” high hand between two or more participants, those participants will draw for high card at the final checkpoint to determine the winner (ace is high).
  • Grand Portage Lodge & Casino (final checkpoint) will collect and document score cards.
  • At 8pm on Saturday, July 3, 2021, GPLC will announce the winners in Antlers Lounge and distribute winner gift certificates.
    • Participants who arrive later than 7pm will be disqualified.
  • Participants must be on Motorcycles for the event. Car riders and drivers do not qualify.
  • NOTE: There are no prizes for “speed”. It does not matter who finishes first. This is not a race.
  • In case of roadside breakdown, we recommend that participants travel in groups, so one of group can assist.
  • Please ride responsibly. Participants must sign a liability waiver prior to the event.
  • Grand Portage Lodge & Casino and Checkpoint Partners are not liable for accidents, damage, injuries, expenses or other claims related to this event.

Grand Portage Lodge & Casino Details:

  • GPLC will offer participants the opportunity to earn a $20 Room Discount for their stay
    • This requires earning 10 base points playing on slots with membership card in the machine during play the night of July 3, 2021 (only)
    • When player has earned 10 base points, they will receive a notification on their machine
    • Player must go the Players Club booth to request a $20 Discount Room Voucher for that night
    • Player must submit the $20 Discount Room Voucher to Front Desk that night to receive the reduced rate

  • GPLC will sponsor a Karaoke Event in Antlers Lounge from 8pm – 11pm on Saturday, July 3, 2021
    • Erik Reddix will be the Karaoke Emcee/Host
    • Receive (1) raffle ticket for each drink purchased in Antlers Lounge during the Karaoke Event
      • Keep half, deposit the other half in the drawing drum
      • Raffle draws will occur throughout the Karaoke Event, for fun prizes
  • All guests must enter through the GPLC front entrance and comply with our COVID-19 protocols:
    • Security will:
      • Take temperature with a “touchless” digital thermal thermometer
      • Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or more will be asked to return when healthy
      • Screen guests for potential COVID-19 symptoms
    • All guests must use hand sanitizer upon entering
