Head Start Director

Responsible preparating breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to Child and Adult Care Program (CACFP) administered through USDA, and the Minnesota Department of Education's Food and Nutrition Service. Maintains kitchen and storage areas and purchases all food items. Conducts general cleaning duties including but not limited to, kitchen, dining area, classroom and restrooms. Establishes and maintains the following records: Menus, meal count, and food preparation, attendance, refrigeration temperature records and other duties assigned. Complies with children's dietary needs (allergies, religious or personal preference) as specified by a child's physician and/or parent/guardian. Plans, purchases and maintains proper receiving procedures of foods to assure quality and cost control.

High school diploma or general education degree. Cooking experience and/or training. Light computer skills beneficial. Administrative skill helpful.

Must have bi-annual physical exam; including an annual TB test.


Grand Portage requires a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for all positions. American Indian Preference will apply.
