Description:
The Energy Program Manager leads the strategic planning, development, and implementation of Tribal energy initiatives that advance Grand Portage's long-term energy sovereignty, infrastructure project development, funding strategy, regulatory engagement, and phased microgrid advancement. The position serves as the Tribe's primary coordinator for energy-related initiatives and works closely with Tribal leadership, utilities, federal and state agencies, and technical consultants. The Energy Program Manager operates at both strategic and operational levels and is accountable for advancing energy priorities approved by Tribal leadership.
Education:
Associate degree in renewable energy or related field and at least two-years of relevant project planning experience. Preferred three or more years of energy planning or infrastructure project management. Experience with grant management and reporting.
Qualifications:
This is a required driving position. Must maintain driver's license and be insurable with the RTC insurance policy. Experience in energy planning, project coordination, engineering support, or related technical fields. Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects. Grant writing and administrative experience. Ability to work collaboratively with Tribal leadership, utilities, contractors, and federal/state agencies. Experience working with Tribal Nations or Indigenous communities.
