Conducts and prepares community assessments for use in multiple tribal programs and grant applications. Assists with grant writing by providing detailed data to the grant writer. Assists and coordinates implementation of new Tribal Grants. Researches potential grants and prepares projects for possibility of implementation. Assists with project management and grant management. Ensures the grant applications are applicable to serve the Grand Portage Band and the community of Grand Portage, and eligible for an application by the Band. (May) maintain record of grant activities and compile reports for grant report submissions and deadlines as required by the supervisor.
At a minimum an associates or baccalaureate degree or a combination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge of grant writing, reporting, research and data compiling preferred.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to prioritize projects and maintain organization. Ability to keep all information strictly confidential.
Grand Portage requires a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for all positions. American Indian Preference will apply.
