Description:
Responsible for maintaining and repairing the property of the Grand Portage National Monument, including but not limited to docks, historic and non-historic buildings, trails, bridges, parking lots, roads and landscapes. Operates and maintains a variety of equipment including lawn/garden riding tractor, ATVs, boats, push type gasoline powered lawn mowers, chain saws, power and hand tools, etc. Performs routine carpentry using hand tools and equipment, such as table, radial arm saws, jointer-planer, routers, etc.
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree, or two-years related experience, and/or training, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Qualifications:
Capable of lifting and moving up to 75 pounds, walking 5 to 10 miles a day over rought terrain, majority of time spent out of doors. Must have valid driver's license and be insurable with RTC auto insurance.
Grand Portage requires a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for all positions. American Indian Preference will apply.
