Description:
Staffs both indoor and outdoor interpretive areas as well as monument's heritage center. Greets visitors, provides basic orientation to the site and local area, provides safety messages, responds to questions in person and by telephone, and works in cooperating associate sales area. Presents talks/demonstrations about Grand Portage National Monument, providing general information based on the interpretive themes of the site.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, or be currently enrolled in an accredited school, be in good standing with a 2.00 grand average or higher. Must also have at least three months of experience relating to the position. Grand Portage Mentorship Program, and retail sales experience is relevant.

Qualifications:
Must have the ability to interact professionally with the public, co-workers, and peers. Must be able to work as a team member to provide excellent visitor services. Must be able and willing to follow directions and work independently. Must be able to operate basic office equipment including, but not limited to, phone switchboard, copier machine and cash register.

 

Grand Portage requires a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for all positions. American Indian Preference will apply.
