Solid Waste Coordinator / Trust Lands

This position includes technical and administrative work in the implementation of waste reduction, reuse, recycling projects, and expansion of the facility. Contact with Grand Portage employees, residents and various businesses occurs regularly. Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Transfer Station, assisting and directing the public with waste and recyclable materials, operation and maintenance of the grounds and equipment, and developing new protocols and systems as the facility grows.

High school diploma or GED. Prefer one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both.

Ability to work outside year-round in all conditions; ability to perform strenuous work, including lifting, carrying and shoveling; ability to learn to operate required pieces of machinery in a safe and proper manner; ability to work with the public. Must maintain a valid driver's license.


Grand Portage requires a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for all positions. American Indian Preference will apply.
