Youth Programming Director
Youth Activity Coordinators (YACs) will be responsible for providing supervision and assistance to youth during a 9-week summer camp program. The summer camp program is open to all youth who have completed Kindergarten and entering classes up to 6th grade. Youth will be split into groups, and each staff member will be responsible for 1 group. One position will be a Floater and this will be a rotation if needed. Activities are focused in the following areas: cultural, health and wellness, and community service. Each YAC is required to attend Wednesday field trips throughout the summer with their group.
High school diploma or general education degree. Education or work experience appropriate to the level of professional responsibilities required being able to fulfill the job duties.
Experience working with youth ages 5 - 11 is an asset. CPR and First Aid training is required. Must maintain a valid Driver's License and be insurable by the Grand Portage RTC. Must possess a passport or pass card to cross the US/Canadian Border for field trips. Must be physically able to participate in all camp activities.
Grand Portage requires a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for all positions. American Indian Preference will apply.
