Description:
The exhilaration of working in a casino is the sensation that anything could happen. A casino host should have an upbeat, natural and "above and beyond" attitude to guests. The Casino Host is designed to enhance guest experience, considering the guest's value to casino revenues and profitability. This includes cultivating player activity and loyalty to the Grand Portage brand, based on parameters established by the organization. The Casino Host sustains these relationships via personal engagement, telephone, email, and personal invitations to events and other activities. Focus of job duties will be placed on acquisition, development and retention of players. The Casino Host is part of the Player's Club and works through and alongside of the player's club to maximize casino interactions.
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree; or two to four-years related Casino experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
A Casino Host must be at ease and enthusiastic in approaching and establishing new guest relationships and engaging in conversations with guests. Once must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and deep-seated customer service orientation. Working with the team to accomplish the highest guest experience is a must. Professional writing and verbal skills are necessary to properly represent Grand Portage Lodge and Casino
Grand Portage requires a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for all positions. American Indian Preference will apply.
