Description:
Assist park staff in accomplishing resource and park management tasks and projects. Typical duties will include trail maintenance, tree/vegetation removal, wildland fire, landscape maintenance, and other natural/cultural resource tasks or special projects as assigned. Must always follow safety protocols.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications:
Must be 17-30 years of age (30-35 for veterans). Must be willing to work outside on a diversity of projects in all kinds of weather while maintaining a positive attitude. Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with various project mentors, community members, and fellow crew members. Back-country work, travel and camping may be required on Isle Royale National Park. Driver's license is not required for this position.
Grand Portage requires a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for all positions. American Indian Preference will apply.
