Description:
Manage and coordinate emergency infrastructure, radio communications, EMS services, structural fire and law enforcement. Collaborate with local and regional emergency managers. Participate in disaster planning and management with local, state and federal partners. Assist with the development and implementation of on-site safety programs for all Reservation programs and enterprises. Assist in coordinating the Grand Portage Emergency Management Plan and any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

Education:
Good communication and team-building skills are needed. Work experience in the construction field preferred. Knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance and equipment operations is an asset. Grand Portage Band Member and Grand Portage Resident (to coordinate emergency situations of the Tribal Emergency Management Plan (T.E.M.P.).

 

Grand Portage requires a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for all positions. American Indian Preference will apply.
